Femi Kuti clears air on personal lifestyle, reveals intent in first marriage

Nigerian music legend and first son of Afro beat King Fela, Femi Kuti has decided to clear the air about his lifestyle with woman, making a shocking revelation about his first marriage.
Femi, who is protege to his late father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti disclosed this through an unconfirmed source that he was upfront with his wife about his lifestyle before they got married.
Femi, now 64-year-old and still making waves in the Afro beat music sector said he told his first wife he loved women and couldn’t promise to remain faithful to just one woman, also adding that he married her mainly so their children could obtain British passports.
However, we seek the authenticity of this statement as response from the living legend is yet to reach us.
This will not be alluded to the fact the Fela Kuti family is noted for their loyalty to women. Fela Anikulapo Kuti married 70 women in one day in a dramatic move to quench a rising jealousy among his dancers. All the women in question maintained loyalty and lived in peace among each other.
If Femi had made the statement in good faith, considering his background, it may be viewed as normal in discerning eye. But the question of faithfulness is a person’s prerogative.
